What has Melk got to do with it … well Napoleon established a base here, actually stayed himself in the Monastery. Now as we are not Monks (Munks?) or other holy order, we can’t actually stay in the Monastery, but we can see the Monastery from our hotel, and it’s just a few minutes away. Napoleon will be featuring in the weekend (Ohlala!!), to find out you must attend! Vinodobona of course, maybe the Holy Vindo Boner (a shocking sight) - will re-appear from the cellars, but is this the Vindobonapart we mean ??
